Dashboard Solutions

Dashboard solutions for UK companies, designed around the decision waiting on them. Fewer charts, faster loads, and a handover so your team can change things.

Dashboard solutions work when they answer something somebody has to decide. We start from four questions: which decision is waiting, who makes it, how often, and what reading would change their mind.

Everything after that is subtraction, which is the part that takes the skill.

What Good Dashboard Solutions Leave Off

A chart earns its place when a plausible value in it would change what somebody does.

Chart type follows the question. A trend over time is a line. A comparison of categories is a sorted bar, usually horizontal so the labels stay readable. A part-to-whole with nine parts is a bar too, because nobody ranks nine wedges by eye.

Colour carries meaning or it is grey. Keeping brand colour off every visual is what leaves you something to say “look here” with, and it is why a red status tile still registers in month six.

Contrast is checked rather than assumed. Text on tiles gets tested against WCAG AA, so the number your finance director needs stays readable on a projector in a bright room.

Load time is a design constraint. Past about four seconds people stop waiting, and the cause is nearly always the model rather than the visuals.

The Monthly Pack That Costs Somebody Three Days

A large share of the dashboard and reports work we are asked for is reporting automation wearing a different name.

Somebody spends the first three days of each month exporting from four systems, pasting into a workbook, repairing the formatting, and emailing a PDF. They want those three days back with the same numbers still arriving.

That is a scheduled refresh, a stable model underneath, and a paginated report or generated document at the end. It is the least glamorous work here and it often pays for the project on its own.

Right-Sized Data Dashboards

Where four people need six numbers each week, a well built spreadsheet with Power Query handling the load is the correct tool, and we will set that up rather than sell you a platform.

The threshold worth watching is when the file starts being emailed around. At that point you have several versions of the truth, and a business intelligence dashboard earns its licences, refresh schedule and gateway.

Our data visualisation services cover both ends of that line, so the recommendation follows your numbers rather than our preference.

What You Get at the End

The reports, the model, the documentation, and a working session with whoever owns it next.

That last part is the point. Dashboard solutions your own team can change are worth more than ones only their builder understands, and making ourselves unnecessary afterwards is deliberate.

Tell us the decision that is waiting and we will tell you what answers it.

Data dashboards sit on top of other work more often than not. Where figures disagree before they reach a chart, the fix is data quality and reconciliation.

Where the data arrives late, partially, or by email, that is data engineering. Where the estate is specifically Microsoft, the model, DAX and licensing detail is on the Power BI page.
